Eddie Lee Wilkins

Eddie Lee Wilkins is a former professional basketball player who has had an impressive career in the sport. Born in Cartersville, Georgia, Wilkins was a 6-foot-10 center and was selected in the sixth round of the 1984 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks. He went on to play for the Knicks (1984–85, 1986–87, 1988–91) and Philadelphia 76ers (1992–93). Over the course of his career, Wilkins played in 322 games and scored a total of 1,534 points. He earned a reputation as a “gentle giant” both physically and in character, and was well respected by both teammates and opponents. Wilkins also established the Eddie Lee Wilkins Foundation, which later became the Eddie Lee Wilkins Youth Association. Through this organization, he provided athletic and social intervention activities for youth in the Cartersville and North Georgia area. Wilkins is an inspiration to many and a testament to the power of hard work and dedication.
